As a practicing psychologist and crochet designer, Sandra Eng recognizes the healing powers of art and craft. On this episode of the podcast, Eng, 40, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, talks about her new book “Crochet Kaleidoscope: Shifting Shapes and Shades Across 100 Motifs,” and the role handcrafts can play as a means of coping with stress and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
She also discusses the new Facebook group she hosts with the aim of helping crocheters build community, get inspired and discuss ways that crochet and other crafts keep them sane.
Eng’s designs can be found in the book “Modern Crochet Mandalas” and featured in magazines such as Simply Crochet. You can try the Big Magic Mandala pattern below on her blog.
You can read an article by Eng and sample another one of her patterns on the LoveCrochet blog.
