I’m quilting on deadline again and still plugging away on Abby’s birthday quilt that features some of the “Happy Monster” drawings she drew in her sketchbook. This afternoon I was trying to decide which fabrics to use to border each embroidered piece. I didn’t buy any new fabric for this project, so it’s all about stash-busting. I’ve made a few changes since snapping this photo out on the front lawn, but it gives you a sense of my creative process. Since then, I’ve cut all the strips and have a border sewn on two sides of each piece. I’m still far for the finish, so it’s looking like this project will likely be an after-birthday gift unless I’m able to work a miracle by Wednesday. We’ll see how it goes…
