If you’re sad about missing QuiltCon, cheer up because QuiltCon is coming to you during this episode featuring Sherri Lynn Wood, author of “The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters: A Guide to Creating, Quilting & Living Courageously.” I interviewed Sherri before she left for the convention where she is teaching and signing books. (Somebody please give her a high five for me!)
I started reading Sherri’s book a week and half ago and got so inspired I ended up whipping up a quilt within five days. (Check back here on Sunday for the big quilt reveal!) During the interview we talked about what inspired Sherri’s love of improve quilting, her process, how to build a great fabric stash that includes solids and prints, and then of course we talked about her lovely book which I’m really enjoying. I will be writing more about the book and sharing progress shots of my quilt in an upcoming post, but I wanted to get this podcast out during QuiltCon to give all the folks at home a chance to feel like they’re part of the action. : )
I discovered ACS when I was looking for a local source for flour sack tea towels to use for my printmaking and embroidery projects. I’m happy to be supporting a West Michigan-based company with my business and ACS is graciously sponsoring the CraftSanity Podcast.
Local West Michigan listeners can shop ACS products at the Red Door, 6837 Lake Michigan Dr, in Allendale Charter Township. It’s the ACS outlet and also a pickup location for locals who want to order flour sack tea towels and other goods and skip the shipping costs. Visit Red door for a variety of tea towels and other home goods.
If you enjoy the podcast and want to help keep it afloat, consider making a $1 per month donation via my Patreon page. Doing so gets you access to sneak peeks to CraftSanity happenings and projects and automatic entry to all CraftSanity giveaways.
