Schamber talks about her life as a wedding dress designer turned quilter and some of the challenges shes overcome to become a top fiber artist. She also shares her thoughts about the creative process and on teaching the thing she believes is her true calling in life.

Quilters here in Grand Rapids, Michigan, have been waiting more than two years for Sharon, 54, of Payson, Arizona, to come to town, and this week it’s finally happening. You can read my column about Sharon in the Home & Garden section of today’s GR Press or read it online.

If you’re local, you’re invited to come to her demonstration lecture on pieced applique hosted The West Michigan Quilter’s Guild at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 3500 Byron Center Ave. SW in Wyoming.
The cost is $7 for the lecture, or $30 to join the guild and attend six meetings a year.

Be sure to check out the free quilting videos and tutorials Sharon has available on her site. She also offers a fee-based subscription service if you’re looking to pick up more advanced techniques.

After you listen, please post your thoughts below.

Hey there, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues. When I look at your website in Opera, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, terrific blog!
