Today, the girls and I spent time in the yard celebrating dandelions, those in full bloom and those past their prime.
I’ve been intrigued by these weeds since I was a little girl. Do you remember tearing the stems into strips and watching them curl up in a bowl of water? Abby seemed to think it was pretty cool, Amelia was more interested in picking more flowers. The way the stems curl in water reminds me of paper quilling and how I’d love to learn how to do that.
Abby calls the dandelions that have gone to seed “wishing flowers.” I heard her wish outloud for a castle today, which means the princess phase is far from over. The photo below freaked me out. We didn’t know this whispy white flower was some insect’s home until I uploaded the photos and took a closer look. Creepy, eh?
