I really appreciate random distractions like sun shining on yarn. Today I need to make a couple looms to fill orders, organize a sale of discounted seconds, unpack more boxes and most importantly wash fabric to sew face masks. My sister works at a nursing home in suburban Detroit and needs a fresh supply. She said she only has one disposable mask. That is so ridiculous. We need to get a
6 days ago by craftsanity When I pulled up the blinds this morning, this sweet creature was staring back at me. Even in this chaotic time, there is beauty. I’ve become quite the deer, squirrel, turkey, duck and other bird watcher since moving to the woods a few weeks ago. 5 days ago by craftsanity Am I really sewing masks?! I tried on my sample, looked in the mirror and, well, I still can’t quite believe how weird this all is. There’s a whole lot to be worried about right now, but I’m going to keep sewing face masks because I have loads of fabric and can do something about this. It makes me so mad that states are having to bid against each other to get over-priced N95 masks. That is so ridiculous and shame an the jerks who raised the price. Since the hand sewn masks are not as effective as N95s, I’m

All this brown is putting me to sleep. It was good to sew again for a bit today after my 3-hour google hangout with my journalism students. 4 days ago by craftsanity I’m so glad we can still go outside here in Michigan. We took a short walk through the woods today, but did not go anywhere else. Thankfully, I’m a total homebody. I can do this stay at home thing. I’ve trained for this my whole life. If we couldn’t go outside this would be much more difficult. We’ll see how we all feel about this in 21 days. ❤️
