Tuesday night’s calligraphy workshop with Jennifer Buck was a smashing success. Fifty-two of you came to the Y and helped me set a workshop record. This was our biggest one yet and it would have been even bigger had I been able to secure a larger space. It was a major bummer to turn people away.
Jennifer, who I featured in my last art & craft column, packed the two-hour session with lots of great information (like use vellum, not tracing paper when practicing your lettering with a light box). She showed the attendees samples of her work and educated them about supplies before launching into a basic introduction to this fancy art. I didn’t do any writing myself because I was busy snapping pictures of Jennifer working her marker magic. It so fun to watch people with beautiful script write. It just looks so pretty on the page.
Many thanks to Jennifer for sharing her time and talent with us. You did great, sister!
I took a lot of pictures of the participants notebooks so you can feel like you were there. Check it out…
See, we really did have a full house. What fun!
