After many years of operating as a one-woman show with lots of support from my husband behind the scenes, I’ve decided to expand my creative team. This week Jonathan D. Lopez joined CraftSanity as a multimedia editor. An artist in his own right, Jonathan will be working with me to produce fun video tutorials, handmade documentary projects and beautiful photos for CraftSanity Magazine. (Our first collaborative project was this stop motion animation video.)

As time goes on, you’ll get a chance to learn more about Jonathan and the fun ArtPrize project he has in the works. But for now, I want to show you our first video tutorial. I recently taught Jonathan how to weave a present for his mom on the CraftSanity Looms and we recorded the humorous lesson. It’s a two-parter.

Part one covers how to turn recycled t-shirts and jersey knit yardage into the stretchy loopers my kids and I use to make potholders.

Part two covers the weaving and finishing process.

These new videos are longer than the weekly TV segments I used to do and a lot more comprehensive. I really hope you find them informative and entertaining. : )

Ok, so go check out the videos and let me know what you think. If you want to snag CraftSanity loom and follow along with our tutorial at home, you can order one here.

Jonathan and I already recorded another video on continuous strand weaving with torn fabric strips. Stay tuned for that one to pop up on YouTube in the coming days. Subscribe to my CraftSanity channel if you want to stay up on all the latest videos. Leave a comment below if you would like to see a tutorial on something in particular.
