Printmaking

A Printmaker’s Take On Karma

by jennifer April 6, 2011
written by jennifer April 6, 2011

This print, titled “The long arm of Karma,” is a little preview of a column I’m working on about Grand Rapids artist Sarah Scott. Every time I interview a printmaker, it stirs up my obsession with one day becoming one myself. I start looking for used presses online and thinking about blocks I want to carve and what I want to print on.

It’s all pretty ridiculous given the fact that I already have a lot on my plate. But we’ll see what the future holds.

So far I’m resisting the urge to bust out my bin of carving supplies and going on with my day. Today I live vicariously through Sarah and other printmakers.

What do you want to learn how to do? Anyone else out there want to be a printmaker?

Hi,Great advice Fraser, the sipmle sites and niche sites always seem to be the best.At the very least people can always build hobby sites and promote something on it, even if there is not a specific merchant selling those products, as I’m sure there is always a book that you can promote or review on your site through the Amazon program.

Very interesting! I never RT something without reading it first – and then I only RT if I really do think it is worthwhile, either for me personally or for my followers.I do think people blind RT just because they know and/or trust the person they are RTing. I occasionally see somewhat lame posts being RTed very often and I’m guessing that is probably why.

Gostava porra nenhuma.

1 week ago by craftsanity I’m very excited to be adding a portable, indoor cyanotype printing set up to my studio that I will also be able to use to sprout my seeds for spring planting. Today is nice and sunny so I made a quick doily test print out on the deck. This form of printing is so much faster and cleaner than carving lino. However, I have no plans to give up printing with ink and look forward to continuing to explore all forms of printmaking. : )  #cyanotype   #cyanotypes   #sunprinting   #doilies   #sunprint   #printmaker   #fiberartist   #fiberart   #testprint
