A special thanks to my sister, Julie, for taking this photo of CraftSanity Magazine on the shelf the Fraser Public Library in Fraser, Michigan, the Detroit suburb where we grew up. I can’t even tell you how happy I am to know that CraftSanity is part of the collection at the library where I spent many hours of my childhood reading and crafting and learning how to be a Red Cross certified baby sitter.
I’ve always wanted to have my name on something in the Fraser Library collection and while my book dream is still on the to-do list, I’m mighty happy to have my magazine on the shelf of the library that holds many of the great books that inspired me to want to be a writer. Thanks to all the contributors and supporters who made Issue 1 impressive enough to score a place in the craft section at my hometown library. And many thanks to the library staff for buying the magazine and adding it to the collection. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.
And speaking of Fraser, I’ll be at the Fraser Public Library, 6330 14 Mile Road, for a CraftSanity Magazine Issue 2 trunk show and craft demo at 1:30 on Saturday, March 26. So if you live in the Metro Detroit area, please come on out and bring some show & tell. I’m actively looking for submissions for the summer issue and would love to meet you and see what you make.
I’m interested in seeing ALL handmade goods, but I’m particularly interested in finding cute apron designs, retro craft updates, camping & travel crafts, fun & original embroidery projects, breezy summer sewing patterns and fast knitting and crochet designs. (Note: You don’t have to be local to send in your ideas. I work with contributors from all over the globe!)
Jeff and I have been busy working on getting issue 2 ready for the proofing phase and then off to the printer next week. Our target publication date is March 8 and the pre-sale will begin on Monday. So stay tuned for all the details. Until then, we’re going to focus on wrapping up production work.
In unrelated news I’m happy to report that I have secured a sponsor for my next podcast which is coming out Friday. Woot! Thank you, Sheri! Check out her Etsy shop ASAP! If you’re interested in sponsoring an upcoming podcast click here.
OK. I better get back to work. Happy crafting, everyone!
Oh… one more thing. I just wanted to spread the word that my sister, Jacquie, just started selling vintage goods in her Etsy shop. So, head on over and check out her vintage finds. Tell her that Jennifer sent you. : )
Now I’m really getting back to work. : )
