CraftSanity Podcast Episode 126: A Conversation with Artist and Cook, Yvette van Boven
As time passes I’m getting more and more into cooking and canning and baking. And some of my most recent cooking experiments have been inspired by Yvette van Boven, author of “Home Made: The Ulitmate DIY Cookbook, Featuring Over 200 From-Scratch Recipes.”
What I love about Yvette’s book is that it truly unique. Her easy to follow recipes are illustrated with her fun drawings and paper cuts as well as lovely photography by her husband Oof Verschuren. With Yvette’s help, I successfully made my own cheese and gnocchi. Super fun!
Tune in to the podcast to hear how Yvette has combined her love of cooking and art to create a fabulous career as an illustrator, recipe writer, cookbook author and restaurant owner. She made her 400+ page cookbook herself in a style all her own. Here story is one more fine example of what can happen when you stay true to what makes you happy.
Read my Q&A with Yvette and sample a couple of her recipes that are featured in CraftSanity Magazine Issue 5.

Wow, Yvette is a world traveler! I really love how she talked about being “late” and figuring things out over time… that it doesn’t happen quickly and that it’s a hard process. Real life!
Lovely podcast, thanks for sharing.
I’m sorry to hear about the column…but I’m certain you’ll make good out of it all – you are obviously capable of running your own thing, here on CraftSanity as proof!
Looking forward to the upcoming CraftSanity mag :)
