Michigan Fiber Festival Transforms the Allegan County Fairgrounds to Craft Heaven This Weekend
It’s that time of year, folks, when knitters, spinners, weavers, crochet enthusiasts and the people who love them gather at the Allegan County Fairgrounds for a weekend of yarn and fiber appreciation at the Michigan Fiber Festival.
I’m headed down to Allegan to meet some talented crafters after today’s craft segment on WZZM Channel 13’s “Take Five” morning show. During my segment I’m going to demonstrate some basic crochet techniques and show off some great yarns dyed by Briar Rose Fibers and Yarn Hollow, two of more than 100 crafty vendors who will be selling at this year’s festival. (And in the interest of full disclosure, these two businesses have been wonderful supporters of CraftSanity Magazine.)
Here are the show details:
Michigan Fiber Festival, Allegan County Fairgrounds, 150 Allegan County Fair Drive, in Allegan
Admission: Friday, free to shop the vendor booths; Saturday and Sunday, $5 per person, free for children 8 and younger. There will be entertainment and livestock demonstrations. Weekend passes for both days are $8.
Tune in to today’s TV segment to see what I made with the stack of yarn at the top left supplied by Yarn Hollow and the silk brick below supplied by Briar Rose Fibers. I’ll post the video clip later today for those who can’t watch it live.
Have a great day and I’ll see you at the festival!!
