I used to make a lot of my own clothes in college, dresses mostly as that was the dress code. I decided that it was easier to make them than it was to take store-bought dresses apart at the waistline to shorten them enough to fit me properly. I stopped making clothes at some point because my shape changed and I was tired of trying to alter the store-bought patterns to fit me. I would love to get back to making my own clothes with a copy of Cal's book.

Just finished listening to this podcast and I loved it. I agreed with so much that Cal said - about making your own clothes and not really needing many, about people getting back to basics, etc. I make all of my kids clothes and any new clothes that I need, and would love this book to help with some pattern designing.

My ipod died a few weeks ago and I finally got my new ipod loaded with your latest podcast. I would love to have this book. Just what I need. If I don't win, thanks anyway for a charming podcast that I love. Keep up the good work!

Oh how I want this book! Thanks so much for interviewing Cal Patch- I love sewing and designing but the mechanics of pattern drafting have always escaped me!

This definitely sounds like a book to own! I used to sew, stopped for years, and have been tempted back into sewing because of the need to finish handwoven items and for surface design. It would be nice to be able to create some patterns that fit well for using my handwoven yardage.
