Nature’s Master Weavers

This is the bird’s nest we discovered under our deck today. I’m in awe of how resourceful birds are. Even our dog’s white fur is woven into this abode. I just love meeting “natural” weavers. Welcome to my back yard!
Thanks to everyone who posted about the Swiss chard. I cooked it up in a stir fry today and really enjoyed it. The girls did not, however. This was Abby’s candid review: “It’s yucky, yucky, yuck.” Amelia weighed in with: “Yeah, Mama. I don’t like it.” Ah, well, more for me.

Great nest! Too bad about the chard. You may have to add something like dressing to zip it up for them. Until they can appreciate it’s yumminess!

Aren’t birds incredible? They seem too small and fragile to survive on their own, much less create things like this.
I recently saw a nest that had incorporated bright green Easter basket grass in it.
