On this mini-episode of the CraftSanity podcast you’re going to meet Susie Hewer, a runner and knitter who decided to combine her two loves to raise awareness of the effects of dementia and money for the Alzheimer’s Research Trust.
Susie, 50, of England, has set two Guiness Book records for knitting the longest scarve while running. I talked to her a week after she smashed her own record.
You can support her charity efforts at justgiving.com/redhead.

Love the podcast – always – but this one was extra good. I don’t knit (I do run). I am a mom of two little girls, too. Mine are 14 and 15 and your essay reminded me of when they were really little. The A sisters in your house will grow up faster than you can imagine. Enjoy every minute!

Loved the podcast! I have run in a few 1/2 marathons and am seriously considering running a full marathon in October……..I think I will do good just to run, not knit!
Love the story about your daughters! Your quilt is beautiful.

Your show is just great. I love every episode. I’m not a runner but I love to walk, especially for fundraising. I can’t imagine walking and knitting but if I could do it I would make a hat on a circular needle. I think that is a good suggestion.
Thanks for your podcast.

Thanks for another great show. And your essay was perfect…sweet, brings tears to my eyes (which is not too difficult, but still).

Susie is fantastic. I am interested in helping out with any “knitting while moving” event / fundraiser. Please keep me in the loop on your ideas about this, I have a few ideas myself.
take care
